Attribution theory is one that gives reason for the cause of behavior. According to the theory,  People tend to give explanation for why themselves or other people undergo some actions, and the  reasons for such action by attributing causes to such behaviors

Attribution theory of leadership gives insights that the type leadership in the organization depends on how people classify or characterize their leaders  and give attributions to explain their leaders performance  depending on negative or positive performance experienced.
