"How Important Are the Elements of a Fair Trial?"
CENTRAL IDEA:
In the United States, the right to a fair trial is an important civil liberty that
has several elements that protect citizens.
China's legal system has made great improvements, but it is
still very different from that of the United States.
To understand the importance of a fair trial in the United
States, a person should know what trials are like in other
countries.
In places like North Korea, people accused of a crime might
have to wait a long time for a trial.
There is no set number of people that a jury must have to
guarantee a person a fair trial.
