A group of researchers are examining the effect of authority and proximity to victim on willingness to commit violence on a stranger. The experimenters are thinking of adding an additional variable, gender of participant, to the study so that they can examine how authority and proximity interact when looking at different types of participants. External Validity

Explanation: After a scientific experiment or research must have been concluded and the necessary conclusion established. Applying the conclusion derived from that study to another setting which was not previously involved in the original study in other to test the correctness of the conclusion derived from the study is called EXTERNAL VALIDITY. External Validity increases the robustness and versatility of a research study. The third variable in the context above is gender which was not used previously in the initial study. It is aimed at accessing how well the conclusion or model can generalize in different scenarios.
