How was Rome similar to a modern city? (plz answer this)

Long sections of the ancient walls have been preserved, however, and archaeology remains an essential element of modern city-planning in Rome. Ancient marble columns and ruins rising beside modern apartments and offices, noisy boulevards, and luxurious villas and gardens characterize the modern city of Rome.

During the paleolithic, hominins grouped together in small societies such as bands, and subsisted by gathering  plants  and fishing, hunting or scavenging wild  animals. the paleolithic is characterized by the use of knapped stone tools, although at the time humans also used  wood  and bone tools.
