How did leaders in Texas try to address the economic problems of the great depression?

At that time, Texas economy was dominated by several industries. Most notably Agriculture , Lumber, Animal Farming,Railroads,  Oil, and Gas.

During the Great Depression The leaders of Texas initially opted to provide incentives for these private sectors. In their opinion, the incentives that they provide will lead to an increase in job opportunities within these industries. As the Texans generate more jobs, they hoped that it will gradually fix the economy and brought the state out of the depression.

But this plan wasn't successful. The incentives only made the government acquire larger amount of debt without necessarily fix the economic depression. Not long after this, Roosevelt acquire the presidential position and started to create the New Deal as the government's main program to bring the country out of the great depression.

Rather than providing incentives to the private industries, the new deal directly allocated government fund to create jobs for people all across the nations, including Texas. Economic experts believed that this program is what eventually led Texas out of the Depression.
