Create an argument defending Jefferson’s decision to buy the Louisiana territory

Jefferson saw the Louisian Purchase as a good move for the United States of America. Number one, it would help keep France out. France wanted to buy the Louisiana Purchase so they could have control in the New World. So Jefferson's buying the Louisiana Purchase gave the United States more control of the west. The purchase also led to the Westward Expansion and more Americans moving out west and exploring new lands and helping to improve America's economy.  It also helped Lewis and Clark with their exploration of the west. Without the purchase of Louisiana, France may have gained access to the United States and it might not be the country that it is today.
