When the British started to settle in Australia they of course encountered the native people of the continent. Since the start, the British didn't wanted anything to do with them and treated them as anything but humans. It was only for a very short space of time when they used them to learn some survival skills, and after that it was going from bad to worse.

The British started to kill the natives without any reason at all, as the natives were not aggressive toward them nor created any tensions. Assimilation policies were set in place, mot of them terrible ones, with the purpose being of totally destroying the culture and language of the Aborigines. Children were taken from their parents and taken to be raised by British families, the Aborigine women were forced to marry British men so that the Aborigine gene is destroyed over time, they did not had any rights and were treated more like animals than like humans beings, and this turned out to decimate the native population.
