Groups are formed for different purposes either for friendship or to carry out a given task. What comes to mind when you think of "a group" is that it involves a number of individuals in a social, political or organizational setting coming together to achieve a common goal in a society.

A group can be found in schools, associations, organizations, and religious societies. A saying goes thus "two heads are better than one". This means that, when people with different intellectual backgrounds and ideas interact to share ideas, it is usually for a quick and positive response with regards to a given task. For instance, in a classroom of 24 students, the teacher may divide the students into a group of 6 each to carry out a project.  There are three types of groups namely; the Primary group, Secondary group, and Reference group.
