By reinforcing good behavior and punishing the behavior that is against the community values, the community exerts social control.

There are 2 forms of this type of control: the first one has to do with the internalization of values using socialization, in other words, teaching an individual what is socially acceptable in the community. The second one has to do with establishing sanctions to prevent behaviors that have a deviation from the norm.
