Inoculation theory states that in order to help someone avoid being persuaded by other diffrent ideas it is good to give them ideas first that will give strength to their already existing beliefs , attitudes and opinions.

If you present someone with a weaker argument first it prepares them to attack the future strong arguments since they are now aware of its weaker sides. The aim of inoculation is to help people defend their own beliefs without being vulnerable to persuasion by Uther people. A person can be able to resist persuasion by giving strong counter arguments.

There is so many Information available out there that a person may start to doubt their own beliefs which is what this theory is trying to prevent by giving them power to defend and tand by their own beliefs by equipping an individual with necessary information that they can use to fight future persuasion.

It is taken from vaccination term in which a person is vaccinated in order to strengthen their resistance to diseases.

Inoculation theory deals with the same thing equipping someone with information they may use to defend their beliefs when they are being questioned or attacked.
