"A Little History of Religion" (2016)  is a book written by a Scottish writer Richard Holloway (b. 1933). As a former clergy man, he has provided both a holistic overview of major world's religions, as well as contemporary religious tendencies.

Explanation:

The book explores the emergence and development of such fundamental world religions as Christianity,  Buddhism and Islam among others. Their role in humanity's history and current state. Holloway also explores fundamental origins of religious belief and the meaning of history through the prism of religion, as well as such modern religious trends as Scientology.

In essence, the author argues that the meaning of religion for humanity is eternal and does not lose its strength regardless of all challenges.
