Signed on June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was a peace agreement signed by European countries after the end of World War I in 1918. In this Treaty, Germany assumed responsibility for the world war, committing itself to comply a series of political, economic and military requirements.

The Treaty of Versailles can not be considered a just peace treaty, since nations have imposed all economic damage of the war on Germany. Even if that country were to blame for the war, it would be completely impracticable for a single country to bear all costs.
