All right there is a big thing here. Edwin Sutherland tried to explain from a positivist perspective which is one of the most strict and objective ways we can find to express something. How people deviate, ok then. He didn't focus on the motives because positivists wouldn't really find an explanation objectively enough to recall motives. However, he mentioned something very important. "Interaction" So, Sutherland doesn't base his theory in the drive or the subjective decision-making system. But into interaction and he said that to be like someone else a subject needs o interact with that person. So, for him, interaction is enough to explain behavior.
