Fugitive Slave Act also called the Fugitive Slave Law was a legislature governing the slave and slave masters. The legislature outlined legal services the slaves were entitled to and were also in support of recapturing the slave by helping the slave masters or owners. Fugitive slaves were recaptured and returned to their slave masters and it was a state requirement for all the free state to participate.
