my in late 1800s and early 1900s, many immigrants chose to come to america for a better life. the more immigrants came, the more crowded the population became. technology and transportation needed to improve for the people. steam engines made railroads become a popular and easier way to travel, and technology like the first telephone people connect.

Your answer is good. One exception is that the railroad system was invented in the early 1800s not the late 1800s. I would talk about the invention of the plane and how that would spark into creating a better one, but that lead to the transportation across seas easier.
