Though i hate to say this, American Journalism currently doing it to Putin. Headlines like "Putin has a 200 billion net worth fortune" from one of biggest newspaper in our country is an exaggeration without enough factual data

This practice is known as "yellow journalism". This is the worst kind of journalism in terms of quality as it often doesn't fact-check its information but rather just says random things about people they think aill be interesting to write about.
