Briefly explain the following: 1 How you (as a whole) should behave when you have a substitute teacher.

2 How you (as a whole) should behave when you have a guest speaker.

3 Now reflect: when you have had a sub or a guest in your classroom, how have your classes acted around those people?

1) When you have a substitute teacher, it is up to everyone to be respectful and responsible around them. Not just because you fear whatever consequences may happen, but because even though they are not your permanent teacher they are still a temporary authority that you have to listen to.

2) A guest speaker is someone who decides to speak to a group of people about their specific field of expertise. Unlike substitute teachers, not all guest speakers are payed to speak out to others, and rather, they do it out of wanting to teach a new skill. So if your classroom is blessed to have a guest speaker come out and talk to you about whatever, respect is due, because they could be teaching you something that could very well change your life, and they didn't even have to be there.

3) In my experience, most classes I were in did do as expected of us, and we would treat each substitute and guest speaker with the respect they deserved. The only exceptions were when the substitute wasn't the absolute best, so we didn't really treat them the same.
