To maintain homeostasis, the four things cells do are:
1) get nutrients and oxygen, and by the process of respiration cells obtain         and use energy.
2) cells allow organisms to grow and repair damaged parts by cell division.
3) get rid of wastes, by exchanging excretory products of metabolism with  the tissue fluid. white blood cells fight pathogens, playing a part in fighting disease.
4) cells maintain a constant body temperature by releasing           energy, and skin cells produce sweat to cool off the body when the body temperature rises.
