How is a scientific law unlike a scientific theory?

Both scientific law and theory are the scientific statements related to any natural phenomenon.

Both are the proved hypothesis but they differ as a scientific law tells how a natural phenomenon takes place whereas a theory explains why the natural phenomenon takes place.

A scientific law cannot be changed but a theory can be modified and changed when new evidence comes into existence.

Thus, both are different.
