A falling ball hits the ground at 10 m/s in a vacuum. What would happen to the velocity of the ball air resistance were taken into account. Discuss using the work-energy theorem. A) Regardless of the presence of air, the forces remain constant. By the work energy theorem, there will be no change in the net work done on the object falling and therefore no change change in kinetic energy.

B) Air resistance will be a force opposing the motion. The net force on the ball changes but the speed remains constant. According to the work energy theorem, a decrease in the net force causes a decrease in work.

C) Air resistance will be a force opposing the motion and will result in negative work done. By the work energy theorem, this will reduce the net work done on the object falling and therefore reduce the total change in kinetic energy.

D) Air resistance will be a force opposing the motion and will result in more work done to move the same distance. By the work energy theorem, this will increase the net work done on the object falling and therefore increase the total change in kinetic energy.

Ametal ring 4.20 cm in diameter is placed between the north and south poles of large magnets with the plane of its area perpendicular to the magnetic field. these magnets produce an initial uniform field of 1.12 t between them but are gradually pulled apart, causing this field to remain uniform but decrease steadily at 0.240 t/s . (a) what is the magnitude of the electric field induced in the ring? (b) in which direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) does the current flow as viewed by someone on the south pole of the magnet?
