Consider a modified falling cylinder viscometer where the outer tube is open at both ends and immersed within a large body of the same fluid. Since the bottom is open, the displaced fluid does not have to move counter to the falling cylinder, and there is no pressure other than hydrostatic. Obtain an equation for the viscosity of the fluid.
