The coefficient of kinetic friction µk between two surfaces is not strictly independent of the velocity of the object. A possible expression for µk for wood on wood is expressed by equation 2 µk=\frac{0.20}{(1+0.0020vx^{2} )^{2} }
where v is in m/s. A wooden block of mass 8.0 kg is at rest on a wooden floor, a constant horizontal force of 41 N acts on the block. Use numerical integration to determine and graph a) the block’s speed and b) its position as of the block and b) its position as a function of time from t = 0 to t = 5.0s. c) Determine the percentage difference for the velocity and position at 5.0s, if µk is constant and equal to 0.20.
