Farmer John was interested in growing larger pumpkins. The annual village festival was soon approaching, and Farmer John wanted to win the biggest pumpkin contest. He read an advertisement that stated the product “Pumpkin Grow” would grow larger pumpkins. His friend, Farmer Fred, told him “Miracle Pumpkin” would grow the largest pumpkins. He added “Pumpkin Grow” to 10 pumpkin plants every day for 30 days. He added “Miracle Pumpkin” to another 10 pumpkin plants every day for 30 days. He didn't add any product to the other 10 pumpkin plants. All plants were grown in the same soil and received the same amount of water each day. He measured the height and circumference of the pumpkins every two days. What was the control group in this experiment?

What is the experimental group(s) in this experiment?

What is the independent variable?

What is the dependent variable?

What are some controlled variables, or constants?

Since the investigative question has two variables, you need to focus on each one separately. thinking only about the first part of the question, mass, what might be a hypothesis that would illustrate the relationship between mass and kinetic energy? use the format of "if…then…because…” when writing your hypothesis.

3. a worker pushes a 30.5 kg polished stone along a polished table with a force on bonin a straight line for 5.20 s after starting from rest. there is no friction between thestone and the table. at the end of the table. the stone is hooked to a cable with a lengthof 62.0 cm to rotate it to a rough table to store until they can be picked up. the roughtable has a coefficient of static friction 0.702 with the polished stone. remember that 8= 9.80 m/s2a) what is the speed of the stone when it is hooked to the cable? b) what is the tension in the cable while the stone is rotating? (there is still nofriction)c) how much force is needed to make the stone begin sliding from rest on therough table? ius = 0.70262.0 cm30.5 kg20.5 kg6= 0

Light from two different sources are incident upon the same side of a polarizing filter. light from one source is polarized with total intensity ip, while light from the other source is unpolarized with total intensity iu. as you rotate the polarizing filter through 360 degrees, the intensity of the transmitted light on the other side varies by a factor of 9. what is the relative intensity of the initial polarized source to the unpolarized source, or ip/iu?
