In this task, you'll observe how different materials allow light to pass through them fully or partially. This event
is called transmission.
Estimated time to complete: 15 minutes
You will need these materials:
• room that can be made completely dark
• piece of white paper
• masking tape
• flashlight
• 4-inch square piece of clear plastic wrap (or a square cut from the side of a food storage bag)
• 4-inch square piece of waxed paper (or a square of sheer fabric)
A Stay safe! Turn on the flashlight before turning off the lights in the room.
