In an isothermal system, a chamber is filled with gas and a piston rests atop the chamber. The initial internal energy of the system is 3,500 J. When heat is added
to the gas, the piston rises. If 2,000 J of heat is added to the system, how much
work will the gas do on the piston? (Assume this is an ideal system in which
energy transfer is 100% efficient.)
