A 27 kg body is moving through space in the positive direction of an x axis with a speed of 190 m/s when, due to an internal explosion, it breaks into three parts. One part, with a mass of 11 kgmoves away from the point of explosion with a speed of 180 m/s in the positive y direction. A second partwith a mass of 5.4 kg, moves in the negative x direction with a speed of 470 m/s . What are the (a)-component and (b) y-component of the velocity of the third part? (c) How much energy is released in the explosion? Ignore effects due to the gravitational force.

Aspring with a mass of 2 kg has a damping constant 14 kg/s. a force of 3.6 n is required to keep the spring stretched 0.3 m beyond its natural length. the spring is stretched 0.6 m beyond its natural length and then released. find the position of the mass at any time t. (assume that movement to the right is the positive x-direction and the spring is attached to a wall at the left end.)
