Why is calling a hypothesis "a reasonable explanation” better than “an educated guess”?
i tried to label this under earth science but i don't think that category is there.

You wouldn't answer a question with a out-of-this world guess, would you? I think that reason behind this is that with an explanation, you have done your research, and that you didn't just guess something off the top of your head. A hypothesis, well, you can look up what that is and you should know what i'm talking about, if you don't I'm sorry I couldn't help.
