Using this new information, and with independent research, you are now asked to develop a learning package for someone who has come to you for health teaching. Imagine that you are either a nurse in a clinic, a personal trainer, a physiotherapist, or any other health practitioner who has just done an initial consultation with a patient. Your patient has disclosed that they smoke tobacco and they have indicated that they believe that the information about lung disease and smoking is fabricated and that it must be exaggerated. You are now tasked with showing them through a diagram and a verbal demonstration the true scientific facts around smoking and lung disease. Make sure to discuss the symptoms, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in your demonstration. You will use either a diagram of the respiratory system that you’ve found online or one that you’ve drawn by hand to support your teaching. You will develop a script and teach the material to either an imaginary person or someone else and videotape your lesson.
