An object of mass m=5kg is being pulled up an inclined plane which is at 40° to the horizontal. The object is pulled at a constant speed of 0.8ms-1 by a force which acts parallel to the inclined plane.
The coefficient of friction between the object and the plane is 0.2
a)Draw a diagram showing the forces acting on the object.
b)Calculate the magnitude of the force of friction acting on the object.
c)Calculate the gain in gravitational potential energy when the object has moved 0.5m (measured parallel to the slope).
d)Calculate the total work done in pulling the block 0.5m (measured along the slope).

Electromagnetic induction. a coil of wire contains n turns and has an electrical resistance r. the radius of each turn is a. initially, inside the coil there exists a uniform magnetic field of magnitude b0 parallel to the axis of the coil. the magnetic field is then reduced slowly. the current induced in the coil is i. how long does it take for the magnitude of the uniform field to drop to zero?
