Find a smooth, hard surface in your house or outside (no carpet). Make a mark on the ground. Get a ball or marble, and predict how far it will roll if you gently push it from your mark. Gently push the ball or marble, making sure that it does not hit a wall or a piece of furniture. Measure the distance it rolls, beginning at the starting mark you made. How close was your prediction? Why did the ball stop? What happened to the kinetic energy in the rolling ball? Give as much detail as you can.
