Consider two interacting physical systems, A and B. Assume that the two systems are large so their temperature stays constant, but they can heat can still flow between them. System A transfers some energy as heat to system B. Neither system interacts with the environment.
a. Does the entropy of system A increases or decrease as a result? Why?
b. Does the entropy of system B increases or decrease as a result? Why?
c. How do the magnitudes of the changes in entropy in (a) and (b) compare?
d. Explain how this process does or does not satisfy the 2nd law of thermodynamics?
