Water is in found as solid, liquid and gas  in the earth. The solid form ice is found in glaciers, arctic and the Antarctic. The liquid form of water is in oceans, lakes and rivers. The gaseous form water vapor is found in air.

Water is found in solid and gas phase in Mars. Mars has ice in the surface and  vapor in the atmosphere. Mars does not have water in liquid form since it has a very low pressure and temperature.

One Astronomical unit is  the distance from  sun to earth. Hence distance to earth from sun = 1 AU

Mars is farther from the sun compared to the earth. Hence the distance to Mars from Sun is greater than 1 AU.

The surface of Mars is full of craters, volcanoes and canyons.
