Asolid metal sphere with a radius 0.450m carries a net chargeof 0.250nc. find the magnitude of the electric field

a) at a point 0.100m outside the surface of the sphere;
b) at a point inside the sphere, 0.100m below thesurface
correct me if i'm worng but there should be no electic fieldinside the sphere right? (for b)
and i can't get an answer for (a)

(a)(At 0.100m outside, r = 0.450 + 0.100 = 0.550)

E = kQ/r2 = 8.99 x 109 x 0.250 x 10-9 / (0.550)2 = 2.2475/0.3025 = 7.43 C

(b)There is no electric field inside a conductive charged sphere because of the assumption of Gauss’ Law. Charge is only uniformly distributed over the surface of sphere…
