These forests have vegetation that have broad leaves. They are found in regions which have moist, warm summers and frosty winters between 30 and 50 degrees north latitudes.

The winters in these forests make it difficult for vegetation to survive, they get damaged due to freezing. Also, due to the lack of sunlight during the winter plant life is unable to carry out photosynthesis which is detrimental.

as sunlight enters the earth's atmosphere, blue light is scattered away and at the end of its journey in the sky, only red and orange wavelengths remain in the beam.

hence at sunrise and sunset, the sky appears reddish orange.
