If your brakes suddenly give out what should you do?

If your brakes go out, you will do the the following things:
1) Downshift to a lower gear.
2) If regular brakes are available, pump the brake pedal fast and hard to build up brake fluid pressure.
3) After three or four pumps, if the brakes haven’t started working yet, do the third step: use the parking brake.
Slowly apply the parking brake and be prepared for the car to skid.
