cheetah v. usain suppose that a cheetah can accelerate uniformly at a maximum rate of roughly g (this turns out to be reasonably close to the kind of acceleration a real cheetah has) for about 3s before hitting its top speed. suppose also that its maximum stopping acceleration has similar magnitude to its acceleration when its speeding up. i'm not certain how accurate this is for a real cheetah, but it's likely at least the right order of magnitude. 2.1. suppose that a cheetah wants to run from a point a to a point b starting and stopping at rest. sketch what its velocity as a function of time would look like to make that happen, and explain in words how you generated the sketch.

Two resistors r1 and r2 may be connected either in series or parallel across an ideal battery with emf ε. we desire the rate of energy dissipation of the parallel combination to be 8.75 times that of the series combination. if r1 = 105 ω, what are the (a) smaller and (b) larger of the two values of r2 that result in that dissipation rate?
