Which natural process is responsible for ridge push

Ridge push means the separation of the two segments of the ridges. This terminology comes into the picture because of the plate tectonic movement that takes place in a continuous manner.

                    Due to the divergent plate tectonic movement, initially rifting takes place forming a rift valley. And gradually with the increase in time, it slowly turns into a a sea/ocean and this point of separation is known as the mid oceanic ridge.
