How does this show that objects at rest want to stay at rest?

how does what show? i mean an object at rest will never move unless you put some kind of force on it weather that the force of gravity or force from your hand but i cannot answer this question unless you give some kind of picture or something

that tool is called an altimeter which measures your altitude which can be used to tell which atmosphere you are currently in, including the stratosphere.
