The final speed of car in first case is, v = 29.0 mph = 12.96 m/s.

Time taken in first case is, t = 1.30 s.

Final speed in second case is, v' = 58.0 mph = 25.92 m/s.

Apply the first kinematic equation of motion for the first case as,

Now, again apply the first kinematic equation of motion to second case as,

Thus, the time taken to go from zero to 58.0 mph is 2.60 s.
