A 35-year-old man presents in the ED complaining of chest pain x2 hrs. He describes the pain as crushing, like a huge weight on his chest. He also states that the pain goes up into his neck and down his left arm. An acute MI is diagnosed. Pertinent history findings include: hyperlipoproteinemia x7 yrs; family history of early MI; cholesterol deposits along tendons; atherosclerosis; diabetes mellitus type I (diagnosed at age 16).
