The hair has three(3) divisions or layers; the innermost layer which is also known as the medulla layer which is soft in texture, the middle layer which is also known as the cortex which is the centre for strength and the outermost layer known as cuticle.

===> SEBACEOUS GLAND:

Basic structure: sebaceous gland can occur independently and they can also occur dependently by connecting with the hair follicles. Sebaceous gland release sebum.

Function: helps in regulating body temperature.

===> CERUMINOUS GLAND:

Basic structure: they are found in the auditory part of the body --the ear especially in the exterior ear canal. They consist of tubules.

Function: for lubrication and for the protection of the ear canal.
