What are the solutions to 2x^2-3x-5=0

3x² - 3x - 5 = 0

First we fractorise the quadratic.

(3x - 2) (x + 1) = 0

Now we apply the zero product property that says that if ab = 0, it means either a = 0 or b = 0.

(3x - 5) = 0 or (x + 1) = 0

3x - 5 = 0
3x  = 5
x = 5/2

x+ 1 = 0
x = -1


x = 5/2 or -1

you can do it two ways using the quadratic formula to factor or if you're really good at factoring just do it mentally (2x-5)(x+1)=0
for the mental way of doing the factors just set both 2x-5 equal to zero and x+1 = to zero

2x=5
x= 5/2

x+1=0
x=-1
