Rare shoes had a regular price of $95, but hey found them on sale for 50% off. including the 8% sales tax. what did jay pay for the shoes

1st step- divide 95 by 2
2nd step- that will get you 47.50
3rd step- since there has to be 8 cents added in at every dollar do $0.08•12=0.96 and find out how many $12 are in 47.50
4th step- there are 3 twelves in 47.50 so that $0.96•3 which equals $2.88
5th step add that to 47.50 which gets u to $50.38
6th step- you are left ten spaces to count and $0.08•10=$0.80 then add that to 50.38 which gets u too 51.18

he spent 51.18
