Well for starters, if it rises 10% per hour then you can find how many degrees that is by multiplying .1 by 40 to get 4. then an easy way is to find how many hours are between 8am and 2pm which would be 6 hours, multiply that by your increase (4) to get 24 and then you can add it back to your original to get 64 degrees.does this ?
