First we should find out the value of d, by submitting a₄ to the formula

3 + d(3) = 18
3 + 3d = 18
3d = 15
d = 5
The difference of the sequence is 5

Second, determine x and y
x = a₂
x = a₁ + d(2 - 1)
x = 3 + 5(1)

y = a₃
