D. 2/9 - the reason I knew this was smaller was because the numerator(number in the top part of the fraction) stayed the same, but the denominator increased meaning we are dividing the same amount by a larger number of divisions. This means that it will be a smaller fraction.  

Why do none of the other answer choices fit? Well, either the numerator increased or both the numerator and denominator increased by a margin that made the final fraction larger than the original 2/5.
