How to work problem 6=a/4+2

6 =  + 2 equals a = 16.

First, multiply both sides by 4. / Your problem should look like: 24 = a + 8.
Second, subtract 8 from both sides. / Your problem should look like: 24 - 8 = a.
Third, simplify 24 - 8 to 16. / Your problem should look like: 16 = a.
Fourth, switch sides. / Your problem should look like: a = 16, which is the answer.
