Find the odds of getting a 1 or a 4 and then subtract your result from 1 (probability of the complement of getting a 1 or a 4).

A fair die has six possible outcomes when tossed:  {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}.  The probability of getting a 1 or a 4 on one toss is 1/6 + 1/6, or 2/6, or 1/3.

Thus, the odds of NOT getting a 1 or a 4 is    1 - 1/3, or    2/3.
