3. A group of workers is harvesting berries at a constant rate. The following equation represents the total
number of baskets of berries the workers picked over a period of time, in hours y = 5x + 10.
(a) What are the slope and the y-intercept for the equation?
(b) X represents the hours, what does y represent and measure in the context of this situation?
(C) What are the rate of change and the initial amount? Explain the meaning of the rate of change and
the initial amount in the context of the situation.
(d) Use graph below to draw a graph for the equation y = 5x + 10. Label the axes appropriately for the
situation.
a. Note: Insert->Shape will allow you to add lines, draw dots, and otherwise insert shapes in
both Microsoft Word and LibreOffice. The graph should be big enough for you to easily plot
points using this method.
b. If you do not want to graph using the drawing tools built into Microsoft Word or LibreOffice
you may also print out, graph by hand, and scan the page. Please note it's perfectly okay to
upload multiple files.
