I wrote this myself and its a true story about me. Tell me if I'm falling apart She waits for the love lights
It never came
She’s falling and breaking and dying inside
No one cares
They never did
She can pretend like she’s okay
But no one’s really okay
It’s not their problem
She waited for love
It never came
This made her sad
Why wouldn’t love come?
She can’t love herself
How could she love anyone else?
Love did this to her
She loved too much
She was always put down by people
Told herself she wouldn’t listen to them
She couldn’t do that
She told herself she wasn’t good enough
Told herself she would never be enough
Told herself she was nothing
The sad part is
She believed herself
And that is when the real her died
She was no longer herself
Everyone knew that.
She couldn’t accept herself as a person
She tore herself apart because of it
Over the years she was sad
For too many years she was sad
She forgot who she was
She felt she needed to change the way she was
Just to be loved
Even if she was loved
She’d know it wasn’t because she was herself
It was because she changed herself
Knowing that, she felt ashamed of herself
How could she be this insecure that she had to change everything about her?
She looked back at all the memories of what she used to be
She couldn’t find them
Love didn’t just do this to her
She did it to herself
She killed the person she used to be
She told herself all these things
And believed them
She never learned to love herself
She could never go back to who she really was
She couldn’t remember
The sad part
Was that she was alone in this crisis
She was alone everyday
No one was there to protect her
Or tell her it was going to be okay
No one
She was left to fend for herself
She cried every day
She changed everything about her
Couldn’t love herself
And forgot who she was
She had nothing
Nothing
She was hurt so much
She hid away her heart
From everyone
From the world
All so she wouldn’t get hurt all over again
She couldn’t go back
She had nothing
Nothing but an empty heart
Nothing but tear stains on her cheeks
She was never loved
Even the ones she had loved
Made fun and hurt her
No one cared
She was gradually dying inside
Because she couldn’t love herself the way she was
She was unlovable
Her love was gone
She couldn’t breathe
She was drowning in sadness and shame
Shame for herself
For most of her life
She felt sadness
But now
As she sees the light
She realizes that the best feeling in her life
Was feeling nothing at all.
